National Bed Month

National Bed Month has officially kicked off for the entire month of March! The annual awareness campaign has been running for over 30 years and aims to raise awareness of the crucial role a good bed plays in an overall healthy lifestyle, helping you to wake up on the right side of the bed every day.

You could be doing all the right things when it comes to sleeping well – eating the right foods, limiting your alcohol and caffeine intake and exercising regularly. Hopefully, you’ll be sleeping in a cool, quiet and dark bedroom. If these are all daily habits, but you’re sleeping on an old, unsupportive and unhealthy mattress, you STILL won’t get a refreshing night’s sleep.

Sleeping on a comfortable, supportive mattress means you’re more likely to sleep better, perform better, look better and feel better! A good bed makes the difference between restorative sleep and poor-quality sleep, which results in tiredness, fatigue and “waking up on the wrong side.”

How to check if you need a new bed

It’s important to check your bed (mattress and base) regularly, as research shows that sleeping on an uncomfortable bed could rob you of up to an hour’s sleep! If you’re starting to notice lumps and bumps, waking up with a sore back, can’t remember when you bought it or find yourself sleeping better in another bed, it might be time to replace it.
